Union Government of India through its Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) is planning to set up a bulk drugs park in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The state which has a pharma cluster in Baddi and other area due to its conducive climate is importing bulk drug intermediates from China.
The new bulk drug park will aim to manufacture it locally and help in import substitution of the same. It has also appointed an agency to oversee the initial startup procedures and environmental clearances.
